Position: Medical Assistant - Correctional Facility

Location: Columbia Station, OH
Pay Rate: $17-$18/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (No weekends or holidays)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Medical Assistant to join the medical team at a correctional facility in Columbia Station, OH. This role supports physicians and nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care in a secure environment. The ideal candidate will have recent clinical experience and a strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the care, examination, and treatment of patients under the supervision of a nurse or physician.


Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for medical procedures as directed.


Provide support to patients and their families, reporting changes in condition to the charge nurse.


Obtain and record vital signs, blood pressure, height, weight, EKGs, and lab specimens.


Clean, disinfect, and restock exam rooms and assigned areas.


Follow all HIPAA, facility, and patient care guidelines.


Maintain confidentiality and respect for patient privacy at all times.


Collaborate with medical team members and provide assistance as needed.



Qualifications:

Minimum six months of supervised clinical experience within the past two years.


Current BLS/CPR certification (required).


Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.


Ability to function in a fast-paced and secure environment.


High School Diploma or GED Required
