We are searching for a Sr. Waste Environment Advisor with extensive experience in supporting operational compliance with all applicable waste regulations, laws, and standards. As the Sr. Advisor, you will be responsible for managing Enbridge's waste by maintaining compliance with local, state, provincial and federal regulations in both Canada and the US, as well as supporting efficient and effective waste management practices and procedures. You will also strategize opportunities to improve waste management across the organization and when appropriate to foster collaboration across business units and jurisdictions.

Here's what you will do:

  • Independently review and develop procedures, guidance documents, and training programs for internal stakeholders to maintain compliance with local, state, provincial and federal waste requirements.
  • Consistently demonstrate actions that uphold safety performance.
  • Review, classify and schedule field waste as needed in support of Enbridge Operations.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of applicable environmental waste regulations.
  • Develop, participate in, and facilitate environmental waste training for field and projects personnel in accordance with waste regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Independently development and review of Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, RACA reporting, and any local, state, provincial and federal reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Enbridge in alignment with Enbridge procedures, policies, and core values.


    Who you are :

    You have:
    • A related Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related experience.
      • Preferred disciplines include Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related fields.
      • Knowledge and practical experience with waste regulations including Toxic Substance Control Act, PCB Hazardous Waste, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and Clean Water Act.
      • Specialized knowledge of RCRA and TSCA regulations.

        You can:
        • Communicate with field personnel, waste vendors, and environmental team members to classify and schedule waste for disposal, reuse and/or recycling.
        • Interpret laboratory reports and analytical data to determine waste classification ensuring effective and efficient waste storage, transport, and disposal.

          Preferred Qualifications:
          • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with effective interpersonal skills.
          • Demonstrated strong environmental technical and/or procedural writing skills.
          • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products, primarily the use of word processing, environmental database applications, presentation, and spreadsheet software experience.
          • Project management skills with practical experience developing and executing project work plans.
          • Analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multifaceted situations/problems/concepts along with the capacity to venture beyond core competencies.
          • Ability to work independently and on a team.


            Working Conditions:
            • Office environment with up to 15% travel to office/field locations.

              Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

              Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

              Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
