As a Procurement Buyer your responsibilities will be:
- Engage with local and regional teams across CNG businesses to
understand business and regional needs, forecast and demand.
- Acts as project lead for applicable procurement related
activities.
- Develop and drive maintenance, repair, operations (MRO) and
facility services, category savings initiatives aligned with
business objectives.
- Facilitate the competitive bidding process (RFx) workflow as
needed to support category strategies and business objectives.
- Deliver documented savings from bid processes, negotiations,
and innovative savings opportunities to meet business requirements
and procurement organization objectives.
- Engage in dispute resolution with suppliers to develop root
cause analysis and resolution to create long term solutions.
- Monitor, report, and manage key metrics, including spend
analysis, supplier performance, etc.
- Manage communications with suppliers and serve as key point of
contact pertaining to supplier relationship management activities
(SRM).
- Works closely with CNG Stakeholders and/or Warehouse Operations
to develop and maintain optimal inventory min/max levels to support
inventory turn rates.
- Prepares purchase agreements/ purchase orders, based on
completed and approved purchase requisitions, to minimize cost
impacts.
- Sends purchase orders to suppliers and maintains purchase order
changes and resolves invoice disputes.
- Review order acknowledgements for accuracy, track shipment
delivery dates, follow up and communicate on undelivered goods and
services. Expedite and negotiate changes relative to cost, delivery
and supplier performance.
- Create and maintain item master records and pertinent supplier
data.
- Works with the end user of product or service to understand
supplier requirements and updates end user on product/service
availability.
- Provide a fact-based understanding of current category market,
supply base and understanding of applicable terms and
conditions.
- Identify and select suppliers, negotiate pricing and lead
times.
- Coordination with multiple departments to evaluate and approve
new materials.
- Responsible for helping improve processes related to all
purchasing & procurement activities throughout the
organization.
- Responsible for adhering to all laws, regulations, and other
applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted
on behalf of the organization, which include Safety Standards, and
Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensures preferred suppliers are utilized whenever
available.
Additional functions and duties as assigned or required.
A strong Procurement Buyer will possess:
- Minimum associate's degree in related field preferred. Will
also consider 2-3 years' experience in procurement and inventory
management in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Buyer
role
- MS Office Suite Experience - High proficiency with Excel a
must.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Strong negotiation, organization, and project management
abilities.
- Ability to effectively interact with and influence people at
all levels and varied cultures within and outside of company.
- Ability to balance short-term vs. long-term needs, company vs.
supplier needs.
- Detail oriented, demonstrated analytical capabilities.
- Strong problem solving and strategic analysis skills.
- Ability to manage multiple project tasks to quickly initiate
changes when appropriate.
- Ability to translate implications from analysis into
preliminary recommendations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
